How to Sign Up

As one of the more established online casino brands, Royal Vegas knows how to make things simple. Our casino review certainly found this to be the case when signing up.

We’ll walk you through it all here in our step-by-step guide to signing up:

  1. First, head to Royal Vegas online casino and hit ‘Sign Up’.

  2. Register your new account with a username, password, email and personal info.

  3. Next, agree to the terms and conditions.

  4. Then, claim your online casino bonus and any Royal Vegas free spins.

  5. Finally, deposit cash to activate the account and any casino bonuses.

This was our first port of call in our casino review. In fairness, the Royal Vegas sign-up process was very simple and pretty quick.

Royal Vegas is one of the oldest online casino brands around. Their main site and mobile platforms make it as easy as possible for new customers, and that does shine through. If you have any issues at all, customer support is available.

Welcome Bonuses

According to their site, Royal Vegas Casino New Zealand sometimes offers free spins. However, the bonus we saw did not.

As we’ve found in many casino reviews, casino bonuses change over time.

Royal Vegas currently advertises its initial online casino bonus as being worth up to $1,200. That amount of bonus money looks big, but it’s not as simple as that.

The bonus is a 100% deposit match, coming in four parts, each worth $300. In fact, the bonus has four different offers. Here’s how it is:

  • Offers 1, 2, 3 and 4 are each 100% deposit matches up to $300.
  • New online casino players only.
  • Players have seven days to collect all bonus money.
  • After they collect the bonuses, there are wagering requirements of 70x.
  • Then, Royal Vegas free spins have a 70x wagering requirement for any money won as well.
  • Betting on certain games does not count towards the wagering requirement. Craps, baccarat and some other casino games are on the list.
  • However, restrictions are in place on some slot games. Slots by NetEnt are limited, re-spin slots count 10%.
  • Cashing out any money before using the casino bonuses fully forfeits the entire bonus.

There are other terms attached to the bonus too. This welcome offer from Royal Vegas appears to be nothing but an attempt at good marketing. The potential for grabbing $1,200 looks big, but to get that amount, you’ll have to put the same in and all within a week of joining.

Our casino review also found a shocking wagering requirement of 70x. Thus, the terms of this bonus are not at all good for online casino players. Much better casino bonuses exist, and we would have to join Royal Vegas despite the welcome offer, not because of it.

Promotions

We would genuinely not have liked to ever hand out a zero in a casino review, but frankly, Royal Vegas is offering nothing. There is a loyalty program which we’ve covered under VIP below. The section also explains that there is a welcome bonus, which we’ve already covered, and that if you keep playing, you’ll get more. However, this again refers to the loyalty program and cannot count as an ongoing promotion.

Usually, we’d like to see various casino bonuses here. A reload bonus would be good. Special offers or free spins on certain slots or casino games. But here, there was nothing. We were shocked to discover this too.

VIP Program

As we keep the VIP scheme and ongoing promotions separate, we had to be honest about the promos section. That’s not to say Royal Vegas offers nothing to any player. Our casino review did find the Loyalty Program, which offers rewards as soon as you sign up.

Whenever you play slots, video poker, live casino games etc, you earn points. Here’s what you can get:

  • Cash bets on casino games earn Loyalty Points.
  • Players can redeem Loyalty Points in increments.
  • When players redeem Loyalty Points, they earn Bonus Credits.
  • They can use Bonus Credits on various slots and casino games.

So, the more you play, the more you earn. That’s the basic premise of not just this but any other rewards scheme we’ve seen in online casino reviews. Can we call this a VIP scheme, though?

There is no cashback, no special invite to promos, no account manager. Basically, it’s a ploy to keep you playing to earn ‘points’ which you then turn into ‘bonus credits’, which, in turn, you just spend again playing the same games.

This, once you go right around the block with it, is about the minimum that they could offer. It is, in all honesty, another disappointing part of our Royal Vegas Casino review.

Range of Games

The promos and bonuses may be nothing to write home about at Royal Vegas, but the range of games is excellent.

Arcade slots, reel slots, video slots and fruit slots are all available, with many produced by top developers Microgaming. As well as the superbly developed Microgaming titles, you’ll find live casino games too.

Live baccarat, blackjack, and roulette games are all available in high quality. Video poker and table poker are both supported too. Classic casino games are supported while ‘casual games,’ which include keno, sic bo and scratch cards, in case the online casino stuff is all getting a bit much.

The quality and quantity of the online casino games offered weren’t the absolute best we’ve seen, but creeping close. There is more than enough on offer to tempt any player, especially in the live casino. The live casino allows you to get as close to a bricks and mortar atmosphere as possible while playing in an online casino.

License and Security

Our casino review found that all transactions made at Royal Vegas are subject to 128-bit SSL encryption. There is no danger to your personal and banking information.

Royal Vegas holds a full license with the Malta Gaming Authority.

There is a sound privacy policy in place, and customer support is on hand to deal with any issues. We found no major flaws with the security of the site in our casino review.

Mobile

If you prefer to bet on the move, then Royal Vegas has you covered. You can download apps for both iOS and Android devices for free.

However, the mobile casino is available via your browser with no download and is even easier to use. The full range of games, customer support and banking are available in the mobile casino.

The mobile site is incredibly easy to use, quick, intuitive and reliable. The familiar red and white colour scheme remains. The mobile version of the casino makes betting on the move incredibly easy indeed.

Payment Methods

There are numerous deposit methods on offer with Royal Vegas. The major platforms are supported, all of these being available:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Maestro (deposit only)
  • iDebit
  • Trustly (deposit only)
  • Skrill
  • Neteller

The major deposit methods are covered then, with the exception of PayPal. Visa and MasterCard are probably the most reliable forms of banking with Royal Vegas.

Deposits are usually instant, while withdrawals are processed in around 24 hours. We’d like to see more information given to players in advance on all limits and timings, though customer support is available. We’ve also seen more banking options in other casino review articles, but the basics are covered.

Customer Service

Customer support is something we hold very dear in every casino review. You can read blogs and a fairly informative FAQ page at Royal Vegas, though it will only answer the most general queries.

We did find somewhat of a paradox when it comes to the ease of getting in touch with the team. On the one hand, there is a constant link (via a chat box logo) to the live chat system. You can tap this at any time, give your details and those of your question, then get a quick reply.

However, finding other ways to get in touch seems impossible. The contact form will get the job done most of the time, so don’t worry too much. But, the lack of options on the site gives the impression the brand does not want you to get in touch at all.

A phone number, support email and even links to social media help would all have been good. When you get in touch with someone online, replies are quick and knowledgeable, which is a saving grace.

Final Royal Vegas Review Verdict

While it’s always good for player safety that security is looked after, it’s kind of a prerequisite. Royal Vegas is kept tight, so we have no worries, while their range of games is also good whether you are on desktop or mobile.

We did struggle to find good customer service options, but more banking choices would also have been a bonus while the welcome offer is expensive and restrictive, with ongoing promotions for casino players pretty much non-existent.

Here are the main highlights and lowlights of Royal Vegas in New Zealand:

What We LikeWhat We Don’t Like
✔️ Good list of games❌ Hard to find customer service options
✔️ Excellent security❌ Unsatisfactory bonuses and promotions
✔️ Good mobile platforms
